American Film Institute
Top resource for lists, events, and awards from the institute, referred to by most other film sites.

Cinema Sites
Huge collection of links to reviews, awards, screenings and theaters, studios, animation, publications, TV, organizations, media contacts, festivals, scripts, schools, and other indices.

Early Cinema
Site covers all the basics of early filmmaking, including technology and inventors, as well as early films; includes timeline and index/glossary for important names and terms.

Greatest Films
Though the site is a personal one, and thus has a bit of an amateur feel, it has many good links and timelines of film history, as well as lists and terms. A good source of movie descriptions and dialogue, though mostly for classics and mainstream films.

The Palace
Great site for images and clips of early film. Well-written articles about Charlie Chaplin, black actors, B-films, and film noir, as well as numerous other early film subjects. Extensive links to other film sites.
