1Up Health A medical and health information resource containing a database of health articles and reference materials, including an excellent health encyclopedia. 1Up Health has extensive information from trusted sources on over 4,000 topics including diseases, tests, symptoms, injuries, surgeries, nutrition, poisons, and special topics. There is also focus on family and community health and the site is updated daily.
Energy Information Agency EIA is the statistical and analytical agency within the U.S. Department of Energy. Its 32 lists cover various regions, petroleum, natural gas, gasoline, coal, propane, et al.
EurekAlert! EurekAlert! is produced by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). It offers daily E-mail notices for reporters and editors only. One is a list of scientific research papers; you have to agree to honor the embargo.
National Earthquake Information Center Maybe you'd like a heads up whenever an earthquake hits? Well, OK, if it hits in your neighborhood, you won't need to check your E-mail to know. But for the rest of the world, try the National Earthquake Information Center. Its Bigquake service sends out a message whenever a large earthquake occurs. (Generally that's a quake of magnitude 5.5 or more.)
National Science Foundation NSF offers an E-mail alert of all new publications, or only those matching your interests, or will make a custom Web page for you. Plenty of information on science and mathematics, including curriculum development.
